2014 in Blushers

Sunday, 7 December 2014

I can't believe 2014 is almost over. It's been a very chilled year for me I want all the storm next year. However, at least I know one thing is not going to change, my love for blushers. Ever since I started getting into make up I have always known blushers are my thing. Lately I have been cheating on blushers with buying more and more lip products, but I know we will be forever.

Peach blushers were all I wore last year (I went back and forth between NYX Pinched and Sleek Rose Gold) but this year it's been about pinks and rose-toned blushers. I can't remember not wearing Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Flushed during the first few months of 2014. I dabbed this on the cheek using Real Techniques Stippling Brush and it's better to apply it that way than with fingers. I love the cream-to-powder formula and it instantly brightens everything up like nothing else. It's a very bright pink blush. It may look scary on the pan but it's honestly one of the best pink blushers I own. The second pink blush is NARS Blush in Angelika which I have been wearing for years. If you are new into make up, I recommend trying a blush from NARS as they are very easy to work with. Angelika is definitely a blush for everyday wear (at least for me), it's a beautiful blue-toned cotton candy pink with glitters in it. Don't panic! The glitters are hardly noticeable on the cheeks.

The next two are what I have been using these past few months. They both have amazing texture and perfect amount of pigment. These two never leave my dressing table and I just grab whichever is closest to me. The first one is Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dazzled. It's not the most talked about shade in the range, I know, but when I made a visit to Sephora in Singapore I immediately gravitated towards this one. It deserves more attention! I suck at describing colours so I am just going to tell you the website describes this as soft rose. I would say it's more like a nude, dusty pink, natural, plum, rose-y colour with golden specks in it (if you can't tell yet, I like this kind of blusher over matte ones). I get so excited writing about this blush because I love it so much. My current favourite way of using this is by using Real Techniques Contour Brush on the apples of my cheeks paired with a lightly contoured face. The next one is a blush that will give you, like, a dimensional glow (no kidding!). So pretty! It's Benefit Rockateur blush. We all hate the packaging, but the product itself is what matters, right? Also, if you are sensitive with scent, you may not be a fan of this one. That's the only bad thing I would say about this product. It's the most beautiful natural dusty rose gold blush ever. Every company should make their blushers as perfectly formulated as this one. It's soft and it's not powdery at all. I can't quite explain it but it's different than anything else I've tried. This is the only Benefit blush I own because I have zero interest in the others. I am glad I chose this one!

What blushers have you been loving this year? I need some recommendation!!
