Most Used in August: Recap

Sunday, 6 September 2015

Since I don't have ultimate favourites this August, I'm just going to share the products I constantly wore during the month, and what I think about each of them. I don't think I have a lot, but let's start!

1. Shu Uemura brow:sword in Stone Gray is a twist up brow product that looks natural and great for filling up sparse areas, but definitely don't have the level of pigment of a pomade. I have been using this product exclusively since I got it. Some days I thought of going back to my MAC pencil but I always picked this product in the end.

2. NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Adoration is a duo blush from NARS with a bright hot pink on one side and a pink silvery highlight on the other side. This blush is definitely not subtle but I just love the flush it gives. I use the highlight more as a blush topper than a highlight. This does not wow me as much as I expected, it's quite similar to Clinique Cheek Pops but less hard in texture. I love applying this using my Real Techniques Blush Brush.

3. Clinique Even Better in 63 Fresh Beige (Asian shade) is a great everyday foundation that gives more of a matte finish and better at controlling oil compared to other foundations I have in my collection. However, I'm not crazy about this foundation, it does not have that X factor, I guess? If you follow my instagram this foundation has been featured a few times. For long days this is nice. It's not as liquidy as, say, MUFE HD foundation and it's quite thick compared to everything in my collection.

4. Maybelline the Falsies waterproof mascara is an old favourite that I rediscovered last month. It still does the job but I was reminded of why I stopped using it a couple of years ago--very often this mascara gets in your eyes and then you have to walk around all day with a painful eyeball. Sometimes with mascara I want a subtle definition on your upper waterline, that's why I wiggle and concentrate on the roots of my lashes, but everytime I do this something about the formula just stabs me in the eye. The pain gives me headache sometimes. I won't repurchase again after this one dries out.

5. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle is a cult favourite and I can see why! It's such a beautiful highlight that can look subtle and can be built up to achieve an intense looking highlight. I bloody love this! I have been using it everyday nonstop and there's barely a dent on the product, I think this will last me for years!

Much love,
x
