Winter Lippies for Paris

Monday, 29 February 2016

During my travels I usually just bring one or two lip products so I'm not overwhelmed with options. However, I went a little bit overboard when I was packing for my latest Paris trip. I knew I wanted to bring some lip products because it's winter out there, we weren't just there for 3 days, and it's Paris, so I took advantage of the above situations and brought 4 different lip colours (plus a lip balm).

So these are the lip products I brought with me to Paris...

Here they are! I made a mission to not bring anything within my usual everyday lip comfort zone... That means no light nudes and sheer pink lip. I already have these beautiful colours in my collection for some time but clearly they need to be loved more.

(From top to bottom in order)

1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick Walk of Shame

At first I wasn't so impressed with the formula of this lipstick, but it's definitely gotten me to wear matte lipsticks more, since I'm not a huge matte lippie gal. This lipstick is comfortable on the lip and it reapplies nicely, which is a must if you are going to wear the same lip colour all day. It's a rosy brown berry type of a colour, quite unique if I say so myself. Perfect for everyday winter lip colour. Not the most 'natural' and it has a little somethin' somethin'.

 2. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama

Now when I bought this lip pencil I did not expect it to look dark on the lip, so it's been stashed away unloved. This trip has made me fall in love with this lip pencil sooo hard! It's neutral, darker pinky brown. It has a lot of brown undertone which is why I have not been wearing it. I can't tell you how confident I feel wearing it as an 'everyday lip colour' for this weather. It looked so beautiful and fitting to the gloomy, windy Paris. I wore this lippie to Disneyland because if you are going to be all over the place for one day you want something low maintenance and that's exactly what this is... plus it feels like nothing on the lips.

 3. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Grand Cru

This shade is the dud of the collection. It applies unevenly so you can't get that deep wine colour on your lips as you initially expected. But it does make a good lip stain, as I have demonstrated here.

4. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw

There's no better reason to wear a red lip than Paris. This lip colour is described as brick red. It has a nice thin formula that lasts all day. I wore a thick scarf that definitely makes lipsticks move around but I saw very little bleeding/smudging throughout the day. I love this red lipstick so much! If you have my colouring you will absolutely be obsessed! I wore this statement lip to go up the Eiffel Tower. Great decision!

How do you pick what lip colour to bring on a vacation? Let me know down below!

Much love, xx
