Skincare Haul

Monday, 28 March 2016

Lately I'd been quite bored with my skincare routine, so I picked up some new products to bring back the excitement of putting on skincare. I got these from Benscrub, which is an amazing website that carries over than 30 skincare brands from around the world (Disclaimer: I am not sponsored or affiliated with Benscrub, they are amazing!) These brands are difficult to get in Indonesia otherwise and I am really happy that they have a lot of the most coveted products in stock. Also, they ship worldwide (the last time I checked) so there's that! This is my skincare haul...

To tell you the truth, I am no skincare expert so most of the time I get things that I know work for a lot of people. That's what happened this time around. These products are wildly popular for skincare mavens and that's why I picked up these. Also I looked for products that would benefit my skin at the time being. I have only started to try to take care of my skin last year, so I have a lot to catch up on!

1. Alpha-H Liquid Gold
I feel like everyone and their mothers swear by this product. With all the hype it gets it's impossible not to be interested. It is an AHA treatment that helps resurface dull skin, reduce appearance of wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and fine lines. It also claims to firm the skin and eradicate spot-causing bacteria. It basically does everything. Look it up on Google and be amazed. If you want intensive treatment and get the best out of this product, don't use anything on top (yes, no moisturizer!) and let it do its magic. I have used this a couple of times and my skin does look more plumped in the morning every time I use it. It adds luminosity and improves texture. I haven't seen any improvement on my hyper-pigmentation but that's because I need to use it more.

2. Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
I bought the baby sized one because I have never tried face oil before and you don't need a lot so this bottle will last you a long time. Everyone is going bollocks for rosehip oil and there are a bunch of brands that offer this thing. The Trilogy one is the more popular one though. The benefits are quite simple, it replaces moisturizer (for me) and is said to help stretch marks and scars as well. I have figured that I cannot use it everyday because when I tried doing it, it clogs my pores a little bit. It's my fault that I did not spray some sort of thermal water before applying it to my face to make it less thick and potent though. But if I use it every other night I feel like I get the best out of it. This oil does something different to my skin than a good ol' moisturizer. If you have dry, dehydrated skin or you need some more potent moisturizing, softening action you will love this one.

3. Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum
This is also my first antioxidant treatment. Whenever I read people's blogs they always say that it's important to have antioxidant in your routine, although everyone is different, so do whatever works for you and you don't need to complicate things if your skin doesn't need it. Antipodes is an all natural brand, so if it appeals to you definitely check the brand out. This water-based serum battles free radical damage and early signs of ageing. With all the sun exposure and not being diligent with my sun protection I felt like I needed this. I used this yesterday under makeup and it felt very light and did not make my makeup move around at all. Plus points for that! I cannot say anything else for now as I need to use it a little bit more.

Much love,
x
