Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick: Review and Swatches

Saturday, 16 April 2016

Another day, another liquid lipstick release. I'm not one to go crazy everytime something new comes out, but when this came out and Tati talked about it, I was intrigued and everything about this liquid lipstick line appeals me--colour selection, packaging, the brand itself, all beautiful.

Long story short I hunted this down and managed to get all 3 colours that I wanted. I will not be adding more for now because these are my favourites from the line and I can do without the others. So this is my review and swatches on Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme liquid lipstick.

Packaging: What can I say other than I love the boxy packaging and this and that? I even love the box it came in. It has a doe foot applicator that has a tiny bit wider flat surface compared to the others I have. An insignificant problem I have with the packaging is that the cap is too short for me and it makes it a bit awkward to apply the product onto your lips sometimes.

Scent: It has a sweet vanilla scent. Pretty normal. You can't smell it once you put it on your lips.

Formulation: It stands in the middle between a more liquidy liquid lipstick and a moussey liquid lipstick. It hits that sweet spot. They feel lightweight on the lips and are some of the least drying liquid lipstick I have. I can say that they are not drying at all, as far as matte liquid lipsticks go. The applicator and consistency of the product allows you to create sharp edges easily. It does not sink into my lip lines as much as other brands do which I so appreciate! If you have dry patches these will not cling to them but I always suggest scrubbing your lips before wearing a matte liquid lipstick. They all go on evenly and richly pigmented.

Longevity: I wore Fraise Bonbon for 7-8 hours and I did not need to touch up at all. I am very impressed especially since it's a bright shade. I had two huge meals and a snack in between, there was minimal fading on the inner side of my lips and feathering on the outer side of my lips, but nothing that bothered me. It definitely did not flake or crumble. I assume the lighter colours have the same lasting power too. I will say though after 5 hours you can start to feel it on your lips, but it's not so bad. I also had difficulty removing Fraise Bonbon, it stained my lips after I wore it.

Here comes the swatches!

1. Dulce De Leche

Matte cool nude. This is such a flattering nude on me even though I have a warmer skin tone.

Jouer Dulce De Leche
2. Cassis

Matte cool muted violet. This colour is just right up my street. So beautiful! A great way to wear purple if you're just starting out.

Jouer Cassis

3. Fraise Bonbon

Matte cool berry red. Not the most unique shade in the world, I'm sure you can easily find dupes but undoubtedly so beautiful!

Jouer Fraise Bonbon (sorry this one's a bit blurry!!)

Overall, this is a super hot launch for me! It's not everyday you find a liquid lipstick line that has a rich pigmentation, very comfortable to wear, and also long wearing. I approve!

Much love,
x
