Simple Daytime Skincare Routine

Wednesday, 17 August 2016

I have been having the same daytime skincare routine for a while now without rotating anything, because I feel like this routine works for me and there's not that many products to begin with so they don't cause makeup to slip and slide on top of them.

After cleansing my face using a cleansing gel, these are the products I use daily...

1. Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner (Moisture)
This acts as a hydrating toner in my routine. I have already used up more than half a bottle. I quite enjoy this but I don't think I will repurchase because alcohol is high up on the ingredients list which can be drying sometimes. Funnily enough this product is geared towards those who have normal to dry skin. I put a few drops on a cotton pad and swipe across my face.

2. Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum
After experiencing several organic, natural skincare products, this one is one of those that smell very nice. You aren't always able to see a noticeable difference when using antioxidant products in your routine, but to me it's essential, since its function is to help protect skin from the effect of free radical damage which causes early ageing. Living in a tropical country where the sun ray hits you in the face everyday, I never forget to put this on. Other than its beneficial properties, I enjoy putting this on as it absorbs very easily on the skin, feels weightless which means it won't disrupt makeup on top.

3. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
My oily skin loves this product because it does not make my skin greasy. It's a very light moisturizer and once it's absorbed you can't feel it on your skin. It also works great under makeup. It does not improve my skin condition a whole lot, just an average daily moisturizer. Guys, even if you have oily skin you need moisturizer in your skincare routine!

4. Skin Aqua UV Moisture Gel SPF 30 PA++
There was so much hype about this product back in the day, and for good reasons. I am trying to be good with my sun protection because I have been incorporating AHA in my skincare, which makes my skin more prone to hyperpigmentation caused by the sun. I like this better than my far more expensive sunscreens. It does not leave my skin oilier or dry, it offers a level of moisture as well, so you can probably get off with just this product for moisturizer and SPF. It also leaves no noticeable white cast, which is a huge plus because I hate grey, dull skin!

This is my super simple daytime skincare routine. I hope it helps! What do you use on your skin for daytime?

Much love,
x
