Wedding Weekend - 3 Makeup Looks

Thursday, 29 September 2016

Last weekend was one of my close friend's wedding. The event was spanned into 3 days so I did 3 different makeup looks. Weddings here are very much different from Western weddings, as a lot of them are more traditional, so depending on which part of Indonesia your family comes from, there could be traditional ceremonies leading up to the day.

In this post I'm going to share what makeup I wore on each day as it was a pretty eventful (no pun intended) weekend for me so I thought it would be interesting. First, these are what I wore on all 3 days without changing anything....

I chose to wear these products for special events because I know how reliable they are and they look good in pictures. I needed my makeup to wear longer than usual or even if I ever needed to touch up or blot I know they would still look good. They wear really well also, at the end of the day they don't look gross.

Left to Right

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (Light to Medium) - I used the shade Fawn to give my face a little dimension, a little bit of contour. The intensity of the contour depends on which day it was. But all 3 days I wore it.

RCMA No Color Powder - For baking my undereyes, nose, sides of the nose, chin and center of the forehead.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - My face primer before foundation.

The BrowGal highlighting pencil (Nude/Gold) - I used the nude shade to clean up under the brow.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Waterproof Mascara - Just a little bit to blend my lashes and the falsies.

The BrowGal clear eyebrow gel - To set my eyebrows.

NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof eyeshadow base - My eye primer.

Benefit Precisely, My Brow pencil (5) - To fill in my brows.

Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix - To set my makeup so they stayed all day.

Maybelline Fit Me concealer (20 Sand) - To cover my acne and spots.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (Light Neutral) - To brighten my undereyes. This concealer does not crease on me.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals (Light Plus) - To set my makeup and add a little bit more coverage. It also was the powder I brought everywhere for touch ups.

Apart from these products, of course I had other things on my face which differed from day to day depending on the event.

DAY 1

The pengajian, siraman, and midodareni day. It was at my friend's house--the bride, and we were there from the afternoon until evening. I decided to wear a glowy natural look, basically what I wear everyday, but with lashes.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation (Y255) - Because it is lightweight, has medium coverage, and looks good in real life as well as in pictures.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Diffused Light) - To enhance glow on the center on my face.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Luminous Flush) - The perfect pink for me.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer - Highlight my cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and cupid's bow.

Tom Ford cream eyeshadow (Spice) - The only eyeshadow all over my eyelids. I chose this one because it looks so beautiful by itself and despite still looking natural, it also looks 'different'

Dior Rouge Brillant (458 Fine Fleur) - Always the safe lip choice when I go for an all over glowy look. The most beautiful lip gloss I have.

DAY 2

It's the actual wedding day! It was a couple of hours ceremony in the afternoon in a semi outdoor setting (with standing ACs). Today I made the mistake of wearing too much foundation. Oops.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD (Y255) & Shu Uemura Face Architect (764 Medium Light Beige) - I knew I was going to wear a red lip so I wanted to make sure there was no redness on my face. I put too much foundation! All is well though nothing was slipping everywhere but Shu Uemura alone would have done the job.

Tarte Tartelette palette - I put Wanderer on my crease and a little bit of Dreamer all over my eyelids as a base.

Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quad (The Fallen Angel) - I put the Pop shade (the bronzey one on the bottom left) all over my eyelids to add a little sparkle. I was going to keep the look all matte but it didn't feel like me as I like my shimmery eyeshadows.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On eye pencil (Perversion) - For tightlining my eyes to intensify my lashline. I still have not found anything that would stay on my tightline, I should probably try NARS next.

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline eye pencil - A pale yellow, beige-y shade to brighten my eyes.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer - Highlighter.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Cruella) - As I don't have a red lip pencil, I applied this all over my lip as a base so it stayed on longer. And it worked! Also it's comfortable on the lips.

Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick (Fraise Bon Bon) - A beautiful cool toned red. The Cruella pencil underneath did alter the colour, but I loved how it looked in the end nonetheless.

DAY 3

It's the wedding reception day and it's in the evening. We all wore traditional outfits and had our hair done. I decided to wear a smokey, halo eye that's not out of my comfort zone. Paired it with a subdued, deep rosy lips.

Shu Uemura Face Architect (Medium Light Beige) - This foundation controls oil better than my MUFE Ultra HD

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Diffused Light) - As a finishing powder after I finished my makeup.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette - I put Milk Chocolate a little bit above my crease as my transition colour and then Semi Sweet under it to deepen and give a little dimension. And then I mixed Cherry Cordial and Triple Fudge and put it on the outer corner and the inner corner of my eyes. On the center of my lids I applied Haute Chocolate and Creme Brulee concentrating more on the gold, and then blend everything until I'm happy and then I'm done! On the inner corner I put Marzipan also I put it on the inner part of my lower lashline. I mixed Milk Chocolate and Semi Sweet for under my eyes as well. And that is it! Very simple and easy.

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline - To brighten my eyes as I don't really like black pencil on my waterline.

NARS powder blush (Blasphemy and Robotic) & Too Faced Love Blush (Your Love is King) - I mixed all three as blusher, but it would've been fine if it was just the Too Faced.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (Soft and Gentle) - I changed my highlight because it's less golden and less intense than The Balm Mary Lou, it's a champagne highlight and it compliments my skintone perfectly.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat (Pillow Talk) & Matte Revolution (Secret Salma) - I usually just use a sheer layer of Secret Salma over the lip pencil but this time I went all out, that's why it looked darker  and more mature than my previous blog post.

PS: The pictures were all iPhone pictures taken from my Snapchat and Instagram Stories, excuse the quality! I'm @adanink on Instagram and adanink1 on Snapchat btw.

I hope this helps!

If you have any question you can let me know,

Much love,
