Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick: Candy K & Posie K (Swatches)

I'm definitely not the first person in the blogosphere to share my thoughts on these liquid lipsticks. I tend to not get products out of hype, I often give myself time to decide whether they're worth it or not, especially since I purchase all of my makeup out of my own pocket. After a long consideration and reading reviews, I finally got 2 shades which are my favourite in the line (so far), ditching the lip liners because I don't use lip liners anyway, and I'm happy to say I am not disappointed.

The Packaging is a regular tube packaging, they feel well made. The only issue I have with it is the stopper is not small enough so it does not regulate how much product comes out. It can get messy on the lip of the tube. It's not a major problem, but it can improve. The applicator is a nicely shaped and sized doe foot.

The Scent is sweet like a bubblegum or a cupcake (I suck at describing scents). It's not overpowering, once it's on the lips you can't taste it.

The Texture is more on the liquid-y side, think Colourpop or Kat Von D. They spread easily and do not feather. They feel thin and lightweight on the lips, and they have no problem gliding over dry patches. They don't crack, or sink into lines.

The Pigmentation is full and opaque. One swipe and you're good to go!

The Formula is comfortable on the lips and not drying. They apply amazingly on top of lip balm (I use Lucas Papaw, a heavy duty balm and these lipsticks do not get weird!). I have worn Posie K through dinner and it's still there after a full meal. They are not patchy or uneven whatsoever. They take around 30 seconds to dry and after that they're fully matte. As far as liquid lipstick goes, this formula is what you would expect from a great quality one. After initial application, it feels like it would be drying almost, but no, they are not. These are definitely not the same quality as Colourpop. The Colourpop ones are so dry on me and they feel like powder on the lips, whereas these ones do not. I heard that Kylie did reformulate the formula, so I don't think mine is the same as the very first launch which some people said are drying. I just got these and that's not my experience and I am not disappointed.

Think what you want about Kylie Jenner, but her liquid lipsticks have taken the beauty world by storm and they are actually good products. I think it's rad that she's built this empire and she's not even 20! If I had a daughter like her I'd be proud. She's set trends and influenced the beauty industry even before she created her brand. It's true that it helps she was born into the Kardashian family, but if you were born to be her, would you have not accepted the privilege and opportunities that come your way? I think that with the fortune she has, it's great that she uses her money to build a business when she can just sit at home and live comfortably for the rest of her life.

Much love,
