Current Makeup Favourites

Friday, 27 January 2017

Recently, I have discovered products that I love so much and I barely use anything else. They are reliable quality-wise, and the colours suit my current preferences. I feel like I haven't done any favourites in a while, so this is perfect timing. Hope this helps!

The Diorshow Mono eyeshadow in Cosmopolite is OMG so beautiful. It's in the regular Dior packaging and it has a mirror! Personally I don't use the mirror to apply it as it's so small, but it would be useful on the go. The shade is so "me" and I would wear it at any time of day. It's a medium, warm rosy golden taupey brown with a high shine, metallic finish. The effect on the eyes is impactful and the pigmentation is what you would expect from a well formulated eyeshadow. It's very intense without much effort needed. It lasts a long time without creasing. It is not gritty to the touch, in fact it feels emollient and more creamy. Truly an incredible eyeshadow. It's more suited to be applied using your finger or a flat brush to get maximum effect, and then you can blend the edges using a blender brush. This eyeshadow has elevated my eyeshadow game and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of use out of it.

We have a brush to talk about today. I have been enjoying using Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush to apply bronzer and/or contour with. I was looking for an angled, medium sized, fluffy bronzer brush and so far this fits all the criteria. It's quite soft and it does the job well. It gives me a blended, soft contoured look which is what I always go for. If you're in the market for this type of brush then I recommend checking this one out.

I have been loving wearing false lashes, and this one has been my ultimate favourite! It's from a local brand called Vouloir Lash and the style is Vamptress. I think the style is flattering and does not look fake. It has the perfect volume, perfect length, and perfect curl for my needs. It's also comfortable, of course. Other mink lashes can be super curled and so long that they touch your eyebrows, but not this one. It's in the middle between a natural lash and a glam, dramatic lash. I wear it on any occasion, I pair it with various eyeshadow looks from the most natural to more night time looks. I've worn it several times and it's been holding up nicely. Just eyeshadows, these lashes, no eyeliner, and I'm good to go.

Another one I just talked about in a previous post, which is Jouer Lip Creme in Terra. This needs no explanation but I just want to reiterate that it is an amazing liquid lipstick formula. It's a favorite for many people and not just me! This shade in particular is such a perfect neutral nude on me. It's not pink, it's not peach, it's not too brown. This lip creme has made me ditch my usual pink lip gloss so it's major.

Last but not least, we have Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Surreal Glow. I felt like it's unfair to put this here because as far as I know this shade is limited edition. But who knows, maybe they are going to make it permanent. This one is from the Surreal Light palette from the 2016 holiday collection. In the pan it looks like nothing special, but on the cheeks it's so pretty. It's more neutral, subtle blush than what I'm used to, so I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do now. It's a welcomed surprise. It's a pale peony pink with a glowy finish. It's suited more towards fair to light skin tones.

What products have you been loving recently? I'd love to know!

Much love,
x
