Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick 'Pillowtalk'

Finally! It's been a long time coming. The cult favourite Lip Cheat shade 'Pillowtalk' is now available in her Matte Revolution lipstick formula. As far as I know, this is limited edition for Valentine's Day, but I am sure Charlotte is going to add it to her permanent collection seeing how popular it is. As a Charlotte Tilbury devotee, of course I placed my order as soon as I found out it was available. A month later it arrived at my doorstep and I wasn't disappointed.

After the highly anticipated Hot Lips collection (which in general ended up being underwhelming for me) I was happy with this launch because I knew already that the shade would suit me very well. Pillowtalk Lip Cheat is my favourite lip liner. I don't wear lip liner that much but when I do it's got to be Pillowtalk. I also put it on other people a lot and it suits many different skintones.

Pillow talk is a nude pink but depending on the light it can lean a bit warm. If you have the lip liner, happy to tell you that it's exactly the same colour. It is a wearable shade that is easy to wear. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a lipstick you want to make sure you're going to be able to wear it everyday, and Pillowtalk is exactly that. It's not too light nor dark, it's not too pink as well.

The formula, as she describes is "luminous modern matte". I agree with that. It's slippy and has a satiny finish for a matte lipstick. It's not drying and comfortable to wear, but it's not necessarily nourishing either. In the next lip swatch picture, my lips were extremely dry and flaky, and I think it did a good job at gliding over the flakiness and giving an even coverage. You won't get full pigmentation after one swipe, you need to layer a few times for it to be fully opaque. I think it's due to the modern matte formula and how they make it slippy but still 'matte'. It feels lightweight on the lips and lasts 5-6 hours without eating. They don't stay put once you have a full meal though. It has the longevity of a regular lipstick, so you will need to reapply if you were to wear it all day.

All in all, it's a fabulous lipstick that will be a well loved addition to anyone's collection. I browsed for reviews and couldn't find one that says anything negative about it. Hopefully this post helps you decide if it's for you or not.

Have a good day!

Much love,

  1. Does it have a dupe colorwise? Mau belii tapi takut kaya warnanya kemudaan gituuu.

    1. Hi Addina! So far I have not found anything that is similar to Pillowtalk, but I'm sure you can find one if you Google :)
