Eid Makeup 2017

Wednesday, 14 June 2017

Hi everyone! I have attempted to make a video on how I plan to wear my makeup on Idul Fitri this year. I want something realistic and achievable, because we need to be ready early in the morning for shalat Eid, but I still want my skin to look healthy and I want to have sparkles on the eyes.

I spritzed my MAC Fix+ for extra hydration and to prep my skin so makeup sticks to it. Primer is a must for me so my Hourglass Veil is for minimizing pores and help smooth things out, it also helps makeup stays on longer, not forgetting my one and only NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eye Base, the only eye primer that works for my super oily eyelids.

I've been really enjoying Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, I love its velvety finish and its medium to full coverage. It feels much lighter on the skin than the basic Double Wear, so it's much more comfortable for me. It does not feel powdery unlike its counterpart, overall it makes me happy! Of course I'm using Urban Decay Naked concealer. It never creases on me and not overly drying, exactly what my undereyes need. I set everything using RCMA No Color Powder, concentrating on where I applied concealer and the center of my face because it's the most oily. And then to brighten things up I used Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light to blur imperfections and get rid of the powdery look.

On the eyes I opted for Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono in Meteore. This sparkly gold cream shadow is right up my alley. It catches the light beautifully and perks up the entire look. I deepen the outer corner using ZOEVA Cocoa Blend Palette in the shades Substitute for Love and Freshly Toasted, making sure there are no visible lines by blending everything out. I also applied them on my lower lashline using a pencil brush.

NARS bronzer in Laguna is a classic for a reason. I find myself still reaching out for it, it's a beautiufl bronzer on me. I like my bronzer more pigmented recently and this does the job really well. One of my favourite pink blushes is Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blushing Bride so I chose that one for this look. Can't forget highlighter! This time I picked Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone because it complements the look and it suits my skintone really well.

On the lips I used Jouer Lip Creme in Terra which is one of my favourite shades. I didn't put on a full layer, just a thin one on the top and bottom lip and then pat it into my lips using my finger.

I hope you enjoyed this short "tutorial" and see you next time! :)

Much love,
