Skincare Haul

Monday, 5 June 2017

Hi everyone! Okay I'm not going to make any excuses, I've been bad at posting on my blog. I know. Truth is my life has shifted recently and I have been feeling distant with this blog but I also know that the only way this can go forward is if I constantly post. I really want to write about what I have been experiencing recently, I just don't know where to start!

Anyways, what I have also done recently is shop at one of my favorite websites, Benscrub. I was running low on some skincare staples so I went to repurchase some things I've loved and something new.

Benscrub's service never disappoints me. I collect their boxes and have repurposed a couple. Package always arrives in around 4 days, with everything bubble wrapped. So these are what I got...

1. La Roche Posay Serozinc (repurchase)

I love this so much. I was recommended this by someone from Benscrub and it has helped with pores and texture of my skin. The nozzle sprays a very fine mist. It feels refreshing and cooling on the skin. Most importantly I have seen a difference. My skin is calmer and I have been breaking out less since I use this product. I use it day and night as toner. I've read several reviews and it's an "either you love it or hate it" product, and I'm glad that it works for me!

2. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (repurchase)

This has been my spot treatment of choice. It dries up acne in 3-4 days. It's tingly when you put it on but that's how you know it's working. I've learned to apply it just on the acne, because it can dry up the surrounding skin if you use too much. It is quite expensive though, but it's an effective product so I'm not against repurchasing.

3. Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum (repurchase)

Taken from the website: Defend cells against the oxidative stress of early ageing with a daily dose of healthy antioxidants that help combat free radical damage.
From that we can say that this product is made to prevent, not repair the effects of early ageing that can be caused by sun rays and pollution. There's not a noticeable difference to naked eyes but I understood that this serum acts as a barrier, not a product that will change my skin. I do feel we need antioxidant incorporated into our skincare routine despite that. I love this because first, it smells really nice. I've thrown out some natural/organic skincare because I can't stand the scent, but Antipodes Worship isn't one of them. It's super lightweight and absorbs in no time, which is what I need because I use this on the day under makeup so I need something that won't disrupt it. If you are new to anti ageing skincare, this product is a good place to start.

4. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (new)

The Ordinary has been taking all of the attention lately. I love their no bullshit approach and how their marketing is like "hey, you don't need to empty your bank account to buy great skincare". I've been loving their Hyaluronic Acid and I needed something for my undereyes because they've darken lately. This product is said to reduce pigmentation and puffiness on the under eyes. I thought this product was worth a try so I got it!

PS: Sign up as a member (it will only take you a minute) and you can use my code BABEADANINK for Rp50.000 off any purchase on Benscrub.com as long as the total is above Rp300.000 (yes, even for products on sale!)

What's your favorite skincare product?

Much love,
x
